For both new and returning recruiters to Eastern Michigan University (EMU), we thank you for your interest in our annual teacher job fair. Last year, we hosted approximately 218 school districts with approximately 500 recruiters and 1,600 teacher candidates. We had 38 districts on our “waiting list.” Please be advised of the following details to help you plan for our April 22, 2009 fair:
1. New Software for Employer Registration: We are using Experience software for the very first time. In order to assure your registration, once you register, please email a copy of your completed registration information to me at: bjones1@emich.edu or fax it to me at: 734.487.0940. Your patience during the use of this new software is greatly appreciated!
2. Open Lunch Hour: As we host over 500 recruiters for lunch, we are no longer able to close the fair for lunch. Therefore, we ask school districts who send more than one recruiter to alternate their lunch schedules so your booth is covered at all times. We will offer two separate lunch seatings: 12:30-1 p.m. and 1-1:30 p.m. Employer booths will not be monitored for security. If you are the only recruiter from your district, we encourage you to meet the recruiters near your booth and ask them to safeguard your belongings. Eastern Michigan University (EMU) is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
3. Credit Card Payments: The new Experience software we are using takes credit cards. Our policy for securing a booth at this fair is first-registered (online only), first-paid, first-seated. The sooner we receive your payment, the better your booth location. Please note that if you register online and don’t send your payment right away, we will add you to the “waiting list” until payment is received.
4. Semi-Private Interviews: Due to the increased number of school districts who wish to attend this fair, we have eliminated semi-private interview space. Please plan on interviewing candidates at your booth only.
Eastern Michigan University is pleased to offer this fair to both school districts that seek to hire our graduating seniors and alumni. Although the facility we use is the largest building on our campus, this event sold out last year. Please register as soon as possible.
